What Comes Next

What Comes Next is an intergenerational “coming of age” and a ‘coming of female sexuality’ that follows 17-year-old Tanya during her last summer before going away to College. At the same time, her mother Laura - a mom of 3 - struggles to find her footing as her marriage crumbles around her in the wake of her own father’s death.

Developed through the prestigious Women in the Director’s Chair Story & Leadership program, funded by Telefilm Canada, and with Game Theory Films on board as the Canadian Distributor, Alex Caulfield’s debut feature film What Comes Next is set to start filming in summer 2023.
